THE FIRST HIGH-TECH SPAR STORE OPENS IN MARCH!

05.12.2023

Managing director and merchant at Spar Atrå, Irene Haugen Gaustad, shared an early Christmas gift to the store's followers on Facebook.

In the post she and Ole Christian Fjeldheim, CEO SPAR Norway, revealed that the store, from March 15th, 2024, will be the first self-service, twenty-four-seven Spar store in Norway. The customers can, as before, go shopping in a serviced shop in the same opening hours, but customers will have the possibility to open the front doors with their bank cards, and shop day and night.

- This is about building for the future, and to secure others, and my own, job, says Haugen Gaustad to Rjukan Arbeiderblad.

- I am proud to announce the first self service SPAR store, and to know the local customers can shop at their local SPAR store, during the day and the whole night, says Fjeldheim.

Currently, there are 83 grocery stores all over Norway, that have adopted the technology developed by Liberty Now AS to make the stores high-tech and self-serviced.

- We want to say thank you for the trust, and we look forward to work with a new profile. This is a historical day in many ways, as we release the news about the first high-tech Spar store in Norway, says CEO in Liberty Now AS, Hans Olav Bakås.
